A RANCH WITH A RICH HISTORY
Our ranch sits on land that was once occupied and tended to by the Chumash. The sky and the heavens impacted every part of Chumash life. The moon (‘Awa’y in the Chumash language) is associated with a female god who controlled human health. Our name, ‘AWA’Y, is to honor their culture and indigenous peoples' wisdom, reminding us to tune into nature's rhythm.
‘AWA’Y Malibu was once known as Malibu's iconic Bony Pony ranch, nestled at the base of the captivating Boney Ridge mountains, and was home to country music legend Dwight Yoakam.
THE PROPERTY
A majestic property spanning nearly 13 acres, distinguished by beautiful locally sourced stone walls and pathways lined with native plants throughout. The main ranch house features three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, and a living room that opens directly onto an outdoor deck with covered dining with views of Sandstone Peak. Additional ranch amenities include a horse corral, a six-stall barn, an outdoor bar and kitchen with a built-in BBQ, and an expansive grass lawn ideal for picnics and outdoor wellness, all set against sweeping mountain and ocean views.
OUR VISION
We see 'AWA'Y as an environmentally conscious, safe sanctuary that invites people to recharge fully, explore, contemplate, and forge deeper connections with themselves, one another, and nature.
A SPACE OF GROWTH
Over the following years, we are gently transforming this land to be self-sustaining. We are growing a regenerative food forest, including an edible garden with fruit trees and medicinal herbs, which will be utilized in farm to table experiences. Through the mindful use of renewable energy, water catchment, and greywater reuse, each phase of our growth is designed to remain in harmony with the earth.
A PLACE OF REST
Cradled by the mountains and breathing in fresh air off the Pacific, we invite you to retreat into stillness, where nature supports deep rest and renewal. Here, it is safe to soften and slow into a natural rhythm.
The Herd
Honoring the ranch’s equine heritage, we welcomed three inseparable horses into our care from A Little Rescue. We invite you to inquire about equine-guided empowerment sessions with our wise friends, Wyclef, Surprise, and Elle.
